1 May 2026 GMT+7Meteorological Department websiteAnnouncement regarding "Summer storms over upper Thailand (effective until 1 May 2026) Announcement No. 8" It states that on 1 May 2026, the North, Northeast, East, Central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity, will continue to experience summer storms characterized by thunderstorms and locally strong gusty winds, with occasional lightning in some areas. This is because the high-pressure system or cold air mass from China still covers the Northeast and the South China Sea, while upper Thailand remains hot to very hot.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to beware of dangers from summer storms by avoiding open spaces, large trees, fragile structures, and unstable billboards. Farmers should reinforce fruit trees and prepare to prevent damage to agricultural products and livestock, and also take care of their health during this changing weather period.

The public is encouraged to follow announcements from the Meteorological Department and can access information at the department's website http://www.tmd.go.th or by calling 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182, available 24 hours.
