Eight family members were injured when a pickup truck returning from the airport lost control on a curve and crashed into a utility pole, breaking it and smashing through a house wall along Khlong Hae–Khu Tao Road in Songkhla Province.
A reporter said that at 22:44 on the night of 1 May 2026, Police Lieutenant Narit Sangdej, Deputy Investigation Officer of Hat Yai Police Station in Songkhla, was notified of an accident where a pickup truck crashed into a utility pole and a house wall on Khlong Hae–Khu Tao Road, Village No. 9, Khlong Hae Subdistrict, Hat Yai District, Songkhla, near Thung Nam Mosque. Several people were injured, prompting coordination with the Mittrapap Samakee (Thung Sia Siang Tung) Foundation rescue team and local emergency medical services to promptly respond and assist the injured at the scene.
The vehicle involved was a white four-door Toyota Revo pickup truck registered in Songkhla. It lost control, hit a utility pole which broke, then crashed through a roadside house wall and ended up lying on its side with severe front-end damage. Eight people were injured—six adults and two children (a boy and a girl). Emergency responders assisted and transported the injured, sending two to Hat Yai Hospital and six to Songklanagarind Hospital.
The pickup truck was driven by 32-year-old Pharanayu Santosen. At the time of the accident, he was returning home after picking up relatives from Hat Yai Airport. The cause is believed to be loss of control on a curve, as the accident site is located on a bend.
