At the scene, a private helicopter was found crashed in a grassy area. The aircraft was severely damaged, with flames still burning from it, causing fire to spread to the surrounding dry grass. Firefighters quickly sprayed water to control the situation amid panic among nearby residents.
Pol. Col. Jakkrich Srirojanakoon, superintendent of Mueang Samut Prakan Police Station, stated that preliminary checks showed the helicopter was a small private aircraft owned by a factory operator near the crash site. At the time, the helicopter was lifting off to fly to a factory in Chonburi Province but lost control and crashed heavily, causing the fire.
Initially, two people were reported injured with minor wounds. Both were conscious, able to provide information to authorities, and refused hospital treatment. Officials recorded their statements as evidence.
Firefighters managed to contain the fire within a limited area and are thoroughly inspecting the surroundings to prevent reignition. Police have secured the crash site and coordinated with related agencies to examine the wreckage and collect evidence for a detailed investigation into the cause of the accident.
