A 25-year-old woman is under severe stress after claiming that a loan shark forced her to provide sexual favors and threatened to release private images, further asserting he could resolve any police issues.
At 10:00 a.m. on 4 May 2026 at the Sai Mai Must Survive coordination center on Wat Ko Road, Sai Mai district, Bangkok, Ms. A (a pseudonym), aged 25, who works at a convenience store and also as a server at a well-known restaurant, sought help from Mr. Aekpop Luangprasert, founder of the Sai Mai Must Survive page. She reported being coerced by a loan shark, approximately 32 years old, who forced her into sexual servitude if she failed to pay interest on time.
Ms. A said that in September 2025, while working as an entertainer at a bar in the Pracha Chuen area, she met a patron named B, who told her he sold life insurance and also lent money, offering help if she was in trouble. Normally, she sent 3,000 baht monthly to her mother. Later, in October, when her mother suffered a stroke and needed more funds, she borrowed 5,000 baht from Mr. B to send to her mother, paying daily interest of 200 baht but not repaying the principal.
In November, she borrowed an additional 5,000 baht, bringing the principal to 10,000 baht with daily interest of 400 baht. She was also required to send nude photos and videos as a condition for the extra 5,000 baht loan. She complied reluctantly to support her mother. From then until late February 2026, she paid 400 baht daily interest, though sometimes extra interest was charged if payment was late: 600 baht if after 5 p.m., 800 baht if after midnight, and 1,000 baht if more than one day late.
Ms. A added that in early March, after missing four days of interest payments, Mr. B berated and forced her into sexual servitude at her rented room in Pracha Chuen—her first experience. In early April, after missing interest at the end of March, Mr. B again forced her to provide sexual favors, but she refused. He then threatened to release the nude photos and videos she had sent during the second loan and warned that if she did not comply, he would sell the debt to another creditor, worsening her situation. She still refused.
She did not report to police because Mr. B claimed the real lender was a policeman, saying that wherever she reported, the police would side with him and she would receive no help. She came to the Sai Mai Must Survive page seeking assistance.
Mr. Aekpop stated he believes Mr. B may be falsely claiming that the lender is a police officer. He plans to accompany the victim to Pracha Chuen Police Station near her residence to file charges against Mr. B, including illegal lending beyond the legal limit, unlawful detention, and coercion to commit sexual acts.
