Donald Duck Bay on Similan Island in Phang Nga Province has secured the 10th position among the world's best beaches in the "World’s 50 Best Beaches 2026," underscoring the abundant ecosystem of the Similan Islands.
On 4 May 2026, reporters announced that Donald Duck Bay, a renowned tourist spot in Similan Islands National Park, Phang Nga Province, brought further recognition to Thailand by being ranked the 10th best beach worldwide in 2026 by the "World’s 50 Best Beaches" list. This ranking was determined by over 1,000 travel experts and a global network of "Beach Ambassadors," evaluating factors such as natural beauty, ecological integrity, tranquility, uniqueness, and visitor numbers.
Donald Duck Bay, located on Island 8 or Similan Island, features fine white sand, crystal-clear blue waters, and large, uniquely shaped granite boulders known as Sail Rock, a symbol of the Similan Islands. The beach remains ecologically rich due to regulated opening hours aimed at preserving its natural resources.
Furthermore, in 2026, Thailand had three beaches featured in the global rankings: Donald Duck Bay (10th), Paradise Beach (23rd), and Freedom Beach (27th), reflecting the country's strong marine tourism potential and international recognition. This achievement serves as a significant boost to tourism promotion in Phang Nga and across Thailand, reinforcing the nation's image as a destination with world-class natural attractions.
