The abbot of Wat Boonchuenchu traveled to withdraw his complaint after an examination of the “Phra Kesa” confirmed there was real gold inside, for the peace of mind of all parties.
At 14:00 on 5 May 2026 at Pak Khlong Rangsit Police Station, Phra Kru Pathum Punyophas, abbot of Wat Boonchuenchu, along with Mr. Yuthphon Thamrupa, headman of Village No. 3, came to withdraw their complaint after previously filing a report as evidence.
Phra Kru Pathum Punyophas Paitoon Charbamrung, age 67, withdrew the complaint regarding the dispute over the Phra Kesa. After the internal examination revealed real gold inside, he came to report to the investigating officers and stated he no longer wished to pursue civil or criminal action. After withdrawing the complaint, he returned immediately to the temple.
Phra Kru Pathum Punyophas, abbot of Wat Boonchuenchu, said he withdrew the complaint today because the gold was found inside the Phra Kesa. Regarding the gold inside, he will meet again with the temple committee to decide when to remove it so they can determine the exact amount. After removal, another committee meeting will be held and the director of the Office of Buddhism will be invited for reassurance. The gold will not be kept because it is dangerous for him personally, as gold is valuable. They will find a way to handle it properly. Today, he withdrew the complaint to bring peace of mind to the foundry and all involved parties.
The abbot also noted that he saw the Namo store issue an apology, which he considered positive because it lets everyone know that they have done nothing wrong. They have always acted well and properly, and he hopes this matter will now be settled.
