6 May 2026Meteorological Department websiteAnnouncement regarding "Unstable weather conditions in Thailand (effective from 7-10 May 2026)" The third announcement states that during 7-10 May 2026, the North, Northeast, East, Central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity, will experience increased thunderstorms with strong gusty winds and locally heavy rain.
Following this, temperatures will decrease due to a high-pressure system or cold air mass spreading from China over the Northeast and the South China Sea, combined with moist south and southeast winds bringing humidity from the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea over upper Thailand. Meanwhile, strong east winds covering the South and the Gulf of Thailand will cause heavy rain in some areas of the South.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to be cautious of dangers from thunderstorms and strong gusty winds by avoiding open spaces under large trees, unstable structures, and billboards. They should also be alert to hazards from heavy and accumulated rain that may cause flash floods and landslides. Farmers should reinforce fruit trees and prepare to protect crops, agricultural products, and livestock. Additionally, people should take care of their health during this changeable weather period.
