
The Meteorological Department issued Announcement No. 7 regarding unstable weather across Thailand. Check which provinces are expected to be affected by heavy rain and strong gusty winds.
On 8 May 2026, the websiteof the Meteorological Departmentissued a statement on unstable weather conditions in Thailand (effective until 10 May 2026), Announcement No. 7, stating that northern, northeastern, eastern, central regions, including Bangkok and its metropolitan area, will experience thunderstorms with strong gusty winds and some heavy rain in certain areas.
Following this, temperatures will ease as a high-pressure area or cold air mass from China spreads over the northeast and South China Sea, combined with southerly and southeasterly winds bringing moisture from the Gulf of Thailand and South China Sea over upper Thailand. Easterly winds over the south and Gulf of Thailand will strengthen, causing heavy to very heavy rainfall in some parts of the southern region.
Residents in these areas are advised to beware of dangers from thunderstorms and strong gusty winds by avoiding open spaces, standing under large trees, unstable structures, and billboards. They should also be cautious of hazards from heavy and accumulated rainfall which may cause flash floods and flash floods from mountain runoff.
Farmers should reinforce the stability of fruit trees and prepare to protect agricultural products and livestock from possible damage. Additionally, they should take care of their health during this weather change.
