Red Shirt Supporters Gather Outside Klong Prem Prison Awaiting Thaksin Shinawatras Release

Red Shirt supporters are gradually setting up camp outside Klong Prem Central Prison, holding signs welcoming "Prime Minister" Thaksin Shinawatra back home and offering their encouragement.

On 10 May 2026, the atmosphere outside Klong Prem Central Prison in the morning was notably lively following news of the planned release of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Red Shirt supporters from across the country began arriving to secure spots as they awaited to encourage and welcome their beloved former prime minister's return home.

Since 11:00 a.m., supporters have been spreading mats along the footpath in front of the prison entrance, equipped with basic conveniences such as handheld fans, umbrellas, and food supplies. Most wore red shirts symbolizing their political stance and held welcome signs with messages including “Welcome home, Prime Minister.”

The gathering also featured lively activities, including music to create a festive atmosphere, groups discussing political directions ahead, and sharing heartfelt emotions about seeing the former prime minister reunited with his family.

For security, more than 500 officers from Prachachuen Police Station, Thung Song Hong Police Station, Klong Prem Central Prison staff, and plainclothes police have been deployed closely to maintain peace and order.
