In Samut Prakan, a crab hunter was disturbed after seeing someone in the house across the street beckoning him. He followed the figure into the house and found a dried skeleton on the bed. He quickly ran out to tell neighbors to notify the police about the discovery.
At 16:30 on 10 May 2026 GMT+7, Police Lieutenant Veerawut Siri, Deputy Investigator at Phra Samut Chedi Police Station in Samut Prakan Province, received a report of a skeleton found inside a wooden house in Laem Fa Pha Subdistrict, Phra Samut Chedi District. He coordinated with forensic doctors from Phra Samut Chedi Swatyanon Hospital and volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation to inspect the scene.
The scene is a single-story elevated wooden house by the Chao Phraya River, formerly an old gas station that ceased operations over 10 years ago but is still watched over by someone. Inside the bedroom, a human skeleton was found lying on its back, turned slightly to the left side. Some hair remained on the skull. It is estimated the person died at least 60 days ago. There were no signs of struggle or disturbance in the room. A copy of an ID card was found bearing the name Mr. Prasert Sirirattanawatchakul, age 60, from Pathum Thani Province. It is unclear if this ID relates to the skeleton. Authorities handed the body to volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation to transport it to the forensic institute for autopsy and identity verification.
Initial inquiries revealed that around 15:30 today, a crab hunter near the Chao Phraya River by the house noticed someone beckoning him. He walked to the house and went upstairs to find the person but saw no one. Then he entered the house and found the skeleton on the bed. He quickly ran out and informed local residents.
Ms. Kanjanaporn Boonklieng, 57, a local resident, said that at about 15:45, the crab hunter saw someone inside the house beckoning him, but when he got closer, no one was there. He called out and then entered the house, where he found the skeleton. He ran out to tell neighbors that someone had died. Usually, the old gas station is watched over by a man about 60 years old. The last time he was seen was before the New Year, when he came out to buy instant noodles. Since then, no one has seen him again.
