On 11 May 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that the atmosphere in front of Klong Prem Central Prison this morning, before the release of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, was filled with many Red Shirt supporters from across the country, who came to show support and welcome the beloved former prime minister home.

Meanwhile, members of the Shinawatra family, led by Panthongtae Shinawatra, or Oak, with his wife Natthiya Puangkam, or Tik; Pinthongtha Shinawatra Kunakornwong, or Aim, with her husband Natthapong Kunakornwong; Paethongtarn Shinawatra, or Ink, former prime minister and advisor to the Pheu Thai Party, with her husband Pitak Suksawat, or Por; along with party leaders and Pheu Thai MPs, came in large numbers to await his arrival.

Most recently, at 07:41 GMT+7, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra walked out of Klong Prem Central Prison after receiving parole, with the condition of wearing an EM bracelet. He met with his family and former MPs waiting outside the prison, while Red Shirt supporters shouted "We love Thaksin."

However, after walking out, Thaksin went to embrace his children before accepting flowers from the many Red Shirt supporters gathered to encourage him.
