On 12 May 2026, Mr. Janawat Thamsorn, President of the Student Council at Lampang Rajabhat University, revealed that on 11 May 2026, the council received heartbreaking news that Mr. Nawarit Khueanjai, known as Tel, a fourth-year Industrial Electrical Engineering student, had died from a lightning strike in a field along with his aunt while they were seeking shelter from rain in a cassava field hut.
After hearing the news, students, classmates, and faculty were deeply saddened by the loss. Mr. Nawarit Khueanjai was known for his polite demeanor, academic excellence, diligence, and gratitude. He was well-loved by his friends and actively participated in university activities. The Lampang Rajabhat University Student Council extends its condolences to his family.
