Traffic Jam Extends 10 km Between Muak Lek and Kaeng Khoi After Road Closed for Repair of Roadside Signal Signs

Traffic is heavily congested on the Muak Lek-Kaeng Khoi stretch, with a 10 km backup after highway officials closed the road to repair roadside signal signs.

On 14 May 2026, along the Mittraphap Road inbound to Saraburi near kilometer markers 27-28 in Kaeng Khoi District, Saraburi Province (near the downhill section by Wat Chab Bon), highway officials removed damaged traffic signal signs from the road for repair. Due to safety concerns during the removal, they had to close the inbound lane to Saraburi.

Highway police opened a special lane from kilometer 31 in Muak Lek District to kilometer 27 in Kaeng Khoi District, Saraburi Province. This caused a traffic jam stretching about 10 km from Kaeng Khoi and Muak Lek districts to Klang Dong Subdistrict, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.

Highway officials stated they would close the road from 09:00 until around 16:00 to remove and repair metal road signal posts. They coordinated with Hin Kong Saraburi highway police to assist in traffic management. Officials aim to complete repairs ahead of schedule to facilitate smoother travel. Meanwhile, traffic moves slowly at 20-30 km/h, with a long queue forming.
