This follows the Meteorological Department’s forecast that the northern region, including Chiang Mai, will experience heavy to very heavy rain with risks of flash floods, sudden floods, and waterlogging in many areas.
Mr. Siwakorn Buapong, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai, instructed all districts and local administrative organizations to closely monitor the weather situation, especially in high-risk areas such as foothills, near waterways, and natural tourist attractions, particularly waterfalls and streams. In case of continuous heavy rain, they must promptly warn residents and tourists and immediately block off dangerous areas. They should also prepare temporary shelters, food, drinking water, and essential supplies to support those affected.
