It was reported that the Meteorological Department's Facebook page "released the 2026 rainy season timeline," stating the rainy season is expected to run from 15 May 2026 until mid-October as follows.

Mid-May to mid-June

  • Rain increases and continues steadily.
  • Rainfall covers 40-60% of the area.
  • Heavy rain occurs in some locations.
  • In the Eastern and Western Southern regions, rain covers 60-80% of the area.
  • Some places experience heavy to very heavy rain.

Late June to early July

  • Rainfall amount and distribution decrease.
  • Water shortages may occur in some areas, especially outside irrigation zones.

August to September

  • Rainfall covers 60-80% of the area.
  • Heavy rain occurs in many areas.
  • Some places experience very heavy rain.
  • There is a risk of flash floods, forest runoff, and riverbank overflow in some areas.

October

  • Rain decreases in the Northern and Northeastern regions.
  • Cooler mornings begin, especially in the upper parts of these regions.
  • Central, Eastern, and Southern regions continue to receive rainfall.
  • Some places have heavy to very heavy rain.
