Brave Female Rescuer Catches Five Green Snakes Barehanded, Finds Them Mating

A female rescuer caught green snakes barehanded after villagers reported seeing them emerging from the bathroom ceiling. Three snakes were found mating, and upon further inspection, two more were discovered. She caught all five snakes.

On 17 May 2026, Ms. Ratha Tapienthong, a rescue officer from the Ang Thong Provincial Rescue Association, caught a group of green snakes barehanded from the bathroom ceiling of a house in Village 6, Bang Rakam Subdistrict, Pho Thong District, Ang Thong Province. After receiving a call for help from villagers who saw green snakes coming out from under the bathroom ceiling, she went to assist. Using a hammer, she pried open the bathroom ceiling and saw a group of green snakes entwined, apparently mating, numbering three. She then caught the three snakes barehanded.

Further inspection of the area revealed two more green snakes. She caught all five snakes and placed them in a sack to release them back into the wild, much to the relief of the homeowner. It is believed that due to the hot and humid weather, the snakes sought cooler shelter under the ceiling to mate and reproduce. Fortunately, the homeowner found them and had them safely removed and released into nature.
