The Commander of Chaiyaphum Provincial Police has issued an order to cancel all traffic checkpoints and alcohol breath tests across Chaiyaphum province, effective immediately.
On 19 May 2026 GMT+7, it was reported that Pol. Maj. Gen. Sujarit Panlek, Commander of Chaiyaphum Provincial Police, issued an order to cancel all traffic discipline enforcement checkpoints, alcohol breath test checkpoints for traffic law enforcement, and crime prevention checkpoints at all police stations under his jurisdiction.
This follows recent social media reports concerning police operations at various checkpoints, which have caused public suspicion and significantly affected the public's confidence in the police organization.
Therefore, the order cancels all traffic discipline enforcement checkpoints, alcohol breath tests for traffic law enforcement, and crime prevention checkpoints at all police stations under the jurisdiction, except for drug interdiction checkpoints in the K.3 area, which may continue as usual.
However, the order takes effect immediately and remains until further notice. It also directs traffic police officers under the command to continue facilitating traffic flow at congested areas or where traffic assistance is needed to serve the public.
