"Department of Mineral Resources" Issues a warning for 14 provinces to monitor for landslides and flash floods during 20-22 May 2026.
On 20 May 2026, the Department of Mineral Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, urged volunteer networks monitoring geological disasters and the general public in Uttaradit, Chiang Rai, Tak, Nan, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Kanchanaburi, Chanthaburi, Trat, Ranong, Phang Nga, Krabi, Surat Thani, and Phuket to be alert for landslides and flash floods from 20 to 22 May 2026.
Due to continuous heavy rain with over 200 millimeters recorded in 24 hours, combined with several days of accumulated heavy rainfall and the onset of flash floods in some areas, there is a risk of landslides occurring.
Volunteers in the geological disaster monitoring network of the Department of Mineral Resources are asked to prepare for ongoing monitoring and rainfall measurement. In case of incidents, they should alert the public about landslide and flash flood situations and notify relevant agencies while following the established surveillance plans provided in training.
