Fire Engulfs Aluminum Factory Myanmar Worker Devastated as 10 Baht Gold and Cash Burn in Flames

A fire broke out at an aluminum factory building, nearly causing a Myanmar man to collapse after losing 10 baht of gold and 200,000 baht in cash he had brought to work, all engulfed in the flames.

At 10:00 a.m. on 20 May 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Natthiphat Naksang, deputy investigating officer of Krathum Baen Police Station, received a report of a fire at a company located in Village No. 1, Tha Sao Subdistrict, Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon Province. He promptly coordinated with more than 10 fire trucks from Tha Sao Subdistrict Administrative Organization and nearby areas to extinguish the fire.

Mr. Pirunroj Nakdondtri, the district chief of Krathum Baen, went to the scene to command the operation, accompanied by Police Colonel Phasaphong Monta, chief of Krathum Baen Police Station, Mr. Wallop Thongphasak, chief of Tha Sao Subdistrict Administrative Organization, and other relevant officials.

The factory is a large-scale facility producing aluminum rebar, aluminum sheets, and various aluminum castings. It covers an area of no less than 10 rai, divided into four warehouse buildings. The fire occurred in the fourth warehouse at the far end, occupying about one rai, where aluminum sheets are produced and formed.

The intensity of the flames damaged the building’s roof structure, machinery, and production equipment partially. Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities.

The greatest loss was suffered by a Myanmar laborer responsible for supervising and managing workers. He asked firefighters to help search for 10 baht of gold and approximately 200,000 baht in cash that he had on him and stored in his desk drawer, which were all reduced to ashes in the fire.

Initial inquiries revealed that before the fire broke out, workers had been welding steel on the upper part of the building. Sparks fell onto flammable materials, causing a rapid and intense blaze. Workers inside fled chaotically outside the factory. Fortunately, firefighters contained the fire before it spread throughout the entire building.

Mr. Pirunroj Nakdondtri, Krathum Baen district chief, ordered the Tha Sao Subdistrict Administrative Organization to issue a closure order for the burned building, prohibiting unauthorized persons from entering the danger zone until further notice. He also instructed coordination with relevant agencies to inspect the site alongside forensic officials.
