Labor Minister Assigns Phumipat to Social Security Team to Monitor Lives of Disabled Insured Persons

Labor Minister assigned Phumipat Hosakul to join the Deputy Secretary-General of the Social Security Office team to visit and monitor the quality of life of disabled insured persons in Min Buri and Khlong Sam Wa districts, receiving disability benefits and income compensation.

On 20 May, reporters reported that Mr. Julphan Amornwiwat, Minister of Labor, assigned Mr. Phumipat Hosakul, a member of the Labor Minister's working team, to accompany the Social Security Office (SSO) on field visits to inspect and encourage disabled insured persons at their homes in Min Buri and Khlong Sam Wa districts, Bangkok, under the "SSO Brings Happiness" project. Ms. Kanchana Phoolkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, delegated Ms. Niyada Seniemanom, Deputy Secretary-General; Ms. Rattanaporn Upanisayapon, Director of the Bangkok Social Security Office Area 10; Mr. Chinoros Chanthathip, Director of Worker Rehabilitation Center Region 1; central Social Security Office executives; physical therapists; officials; and a multidisciplinary team from local public health service centers to join the delegation. They followed up on the quality of life of disabled insured persons and delivered essential consumables and supplies as encouragement to the insured persons and their families.

Mr. Phumipat said that Mr. Julphan is concerned about insured persons who have suffered accidents or illnesses resulting in disabilities. Today, he assigned me to join the Social Security Office on field visits to closely care for and monitor the quality of life of insured persons. This visit is not only to offer encouragement but also to provide advice regarding legal matters.. (This is a fragment: the word "แรงงาน" means "labor" or "workforce" but in isolation it is unclear; it likely continues from the previous part or is a typographical fragment.)Especially concerning benefits from the Social Security Office, as well as monitoring health conditions and evaluating rehabilitation plans, so that insured persons can access appropriate treatment and care.

Ms. Niyada said the "SSO Brings Happiness" project reflects the Social Security Office's commitment to comprehensively care for insured persons, continuing efforts to boost morale and improve the quality of life for disabled insured persons by ensuring full access to benefits. During this visit, they checked on three disabled insured persons: The first, Mr. Samart Pilompan, 60 years old, insured under Section 33, disabled from a cerebral artery blockage causing weakness and atrophy on the left side, unable to walk, with 84% loss of work capacity. He has been entitled to disability benefits since 24 January 2018, receiving a lifetime income compensation of 3,700 baht per month. The second, Mr.ChamnanPrommee, 53 years old, insured under Section 33, disabled due to brain hemorrhage causing weakness on the left side, with 75% loss of work capacity. He has been entitled to disability benefits since 27 March 2020, receiving a lifetime income compensation of 2,599.50 baht per month. The third, Ms. Anchalee Mohmadsone, 48 years old, insured under Section 33, disabled from a motorcycle accident with brain hemorrhage, unable to walk or care for herself, with limited and slow communication, weakness on the right side, and 93% loss of work capacity. She has been entitled to disability benefits since 5 July 2019, receiving a lifetime income compensation of 6,000 baht per month.

The Social Security Office is committed to continuing care for all groups of insured persons, especially those disabled requiring long-term care, to enable them to live with quality and receive full benefits. Because every insured person is an important asset to the country and part of the Social Security family.
