Overwhelming Faith at Consecration Ceremony of Phra Ruang Rojanarit and Phra Phuttha Kaew Saraphat Nuek in Nakhon Pathom Province

The consecration ceremony for the replica Phra Ruang Rojanarit and Phra Phuttha Kaew Saraphat Nuek (Luang Pho Dam) statues installed at Provincial Police Region 7 attracted great attention when a miraculous event occurred: the sky changed from dark and overcast to bright during the meditation ritual performed by revered monks.

On 20 May 2026 at 12:39 GMT+7, at the courtyard in front of Phra Pathom Chedi Ratchaworamahawihan in Mueang Nakhon Pathom District, Nakhon Pathom Province, Police Lieutenant General Phisit Tanprasert, Commander of Provincial Police Region 7, along with his deputy, conducted a Buddhist consecration ceremony for a 2-meter-tall replica Phra Ruang Rojanarit statue and a 49-inch wide, 1.39-meter tall Phra Phuttha Kaew Saraphat Nuek (Luang Pho Dam) statue. These statues were to be enshrined at the Provincial Police Region 7 office, with the Phra Ruang Rojanarit placed in the new chapel in front of the police office building.

The Phra Phuttha Kaew Saraphat Nuek (Luang Pho Dam) statue was installed in front of the Investigation Division of Region 7 to serve as a spiritual center and morale booster for police officers working there, as well as for the public coming to conduct business at the Provincial Police Region 7 office, allowing them to pay respects for good fortune.

This major consecration ceremony marked the third occasion of its kind, with Police General Thana Chuwong, former Commander of Provincial Police Region 7 and current Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, serving as the lay chairman. Phra Phrommongkol Watcharachan presided over the monastic side. Nineteen renowned monks participated in the meditation ritual. Also present were former high-ranking commanders such as Police General Kornchai Klai-klueng, Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police; Police General Akkharadet Pimonsri, Assistant Commissioner; retired officers like Police General Rungroj Saengkram, former Deputy Commissioner; Police Lieutenant General Sophon Pisutwong, former Assistant Commissioner and former Deputy Governor of Bangkok; and Police Lieutenant General Kasana Jamsawang, former Commander responsible for police budget. All had previously served in Region 7 and attended the ceremony from morning until its conclusion at 15:00.

Additionally, besides the meditation ritual for the replica Phra Ruang Rojanarit and Phra Phuttha Kaew Saraphat Nuek (Luang Pho Dam) statues to be installed at the Provincial Police Region 7 office, Police Lieutenant General Phisit Tanprasert also commissioned the casting of a 12-inch tall brass replica Phra Ruang Rojanarit statue and blackened Phra Ruang Rojanarit medallions for Region 7, which were consecrated by revered monks during the meditation ritual.

The 12-inch replica Phra Ruang Rojanarit statues will be placed at 144 police stations under Region 7, while the blackened Phra Ruang Rojanarit medallions will be distributed to all police officers within the Provincial Police Region 7 to serve as protection and a source of encouragement.

A remarkable occurrence during the consecration was that, although the sky began overcast with strong winds, as the revered monks entered meditation, bright sunlight suddenly broke through and the sky cleared. However, once the ceremony ended, the sky darkened again as if it were about to rain.
