Relatives of the victim in the train-bus collision received the body of “Nong Ael” back in Chiang Mai. Her brother revealed she was the family's pillar and had recently been promoted to manager of an aesthetic clinic. The family is still struggling to come to terms with the loss.
On 21 May 2026, the atmosphere at the Institute of Forensic Medicine at Police General Hospital remained heavy with grief after the family of Miss Ael aged 33, or “Nong Praew,” the victim of the train-bus collision, came to arrange for the body to be taken back for religious rites in Chiang Mai Province. The plan is to hold the funeral at Wat Nam Phrae.
Mr. Thitikorn Jongjit, the victim’s brother, tearfully revealed that after the incident, their father called him because he could not reach his sister. At first, he did not think she was among the victims of this tragedy, but as days passed without contact, the family grew worried and decided to travel to Bangkok to conduct DNA testing yesterday.
Mr. Thitikorn admitted he still cannot accept the reality as the event happened so suddenly. He said, “Nong Ael” was talented and kind, having lived and worked in Bangkok for many years. She had just been promoted to manager of a beauty clinic in the Srinakarin area. Her future was bright, and she did not have a family of her own yet.
The brother also revealed that he had not talked much with his sister and last saw her about a year ago, so he was unaware of details about the day of the incident. “Nong Ael” regularly traveled by bus. Upon learning she was among the passengers on the bus involved in the accident, he was deeply shocked.
Meanwhile, the family is preparing to take the body of “Nong Ael” back to hold funeral rites at Wat Nam Phrae, Nam Phrae Subdistrict, Phrao District, Chiang Mai Province, this afternoon.
