Countdown to 1 Jun 2026 as the "Pha Diao Dai" tourist site in Khao Yai National Park will close for 4 months until 30 Sep 2026 to allow nature restoration during the rainy season and to ensure tourist safety.
On 21 May 2026, Mr. Chaiya Huayhongthong, chief of Khao Yai National Park, announced that the park will close Pha Diao Dai annually from 1 June to 30 September, a 4-month period, to restore nature and because it coincides with the rainy season when the path to Pha Diao Dai may be slippery and unsafe for visitors.
Pha Diao Dai is located atop Khao Khiao within Khao Yai National Park. It is a scenic viewpoint renowned for its beautiful sunrises and sea of mist, featuring a sandstone plateau that juts out over a ravine and the Dong Phaya Yen forest. This tourist spot is rich in natural beauty, situated over 1,000 meters above sea level, surrounded by evergreen forest, resulting in cool and humid conditions year-round with dense moss and fern cover.
The park has established a nature study trail and elevated wooden bridge so visitors can comfortably explore the plant species and experience nature directly at the viewpoint. Visitors must park and walk a certain distance to reach the site. Currently, tourists have about 10 more days to visit before the closure begins.
