IMPACT Muang Thong Thani has fully deployed traffic measures to facilitate THAIFEX-ANUGA ASIA 2026, strengthening public transport options and establishing checkpoints to prevent taxis from avoiding meter use, aiming to create a positive impression for visitors worldwide.
On 22 May, Ms. Jintana Pongpakdee, Director of Corporate Communications at IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., stated that IMPACT Muang Thong Thani is reaffirming its highest level of readiness as a premier MICE destination in Asia by hosting THAIFEX - ANUGA ASIA 2026, the region’s most comprehensive food and beverage trade show, from 26 to 30 May 2026. This year’s event is larger than before, expanding to cover all buildings with a total area of 140,000 square meters to accommodate nearly 3,600 exhibitors and 90,000 visitors from 130 countries. Full preparations have been made across all dimensions, especially in traffic management and public transportation, alongside comprehensive infrastructure and facilities to ensure convenience and impress all attendees throughout the event.
For traffic management, IMPACT has collaborated with event organizers including the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Koelnmesse, ExploLink Global Network Co., Ltd., and relevant agencies such as Nonthaburi Province, Nonthaburi Provincial Police, Pak Kret Police, and Nonthaburi Transport Office. Together, they have enhanced capacity and readiness to efficiently manage travel. Comprehensive traffic management measures have been planned in two main areas: 1. In outer zones, coordination with Pak Kret Police and Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited has established traffic flow plans using Easy Pass lanes for entry and exit, with signage advising use of the Srisamarn Expressway exit if congestion builds up on the Muang Thong Thani expressway, improving traffic fluidity. Recommended routes for entering and exiting Muang Thong Thani include Bond Street, Khlong Prapa Canal Road, Chaeng Watthana Expressway, and Srisamarn Expressway.
2. Within and around the center, police coordination aims to expedite traffic flow and adjust traffic signal timing. Plans are in place for overflow parking if main lots are full, directing visitors to auxiliary parking at Lakeside 4, Beehive Building, and Cosmo Bazaar. Shuttle buses will run continuously between these points and Challenger Hall 1 throughout the event daily. Safety is enhanced by CCTV AI systems that detect bottlenecks and abnormalities in real time, enabling traffic patrol teams to respond promptly. A rapid response team, towing vehicles, and traffic rescue units with equipment are ready to address accidents or obstructions immediately. For private vehicles, over 12,600 indoor and outdoor parking spaces are available, supplemented by shuttle bus services circulating visitors to various points around the center.
Ms. Jintana added that for convenience and to avoid heavy traffic, visitors are advised to use the Pink Line MRT extension, disembarking at Muang Thong Thani Lake Station (MT02) Exit 4, which connects directly to Building 4, IMPACT Forum. This year, the event has added a registration point at Building 4’s lobby. Additionally, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani Station (MT01) Exit 3 features a Sky Entrance linking to Challenger Hall 1, with two registration points at Challenger Hall 2 lobby and Buildings 9-10. Public transport frequency has been increased on main routes such as Victory Monument, Major Rangsit, Chatuchak, and The Mall Ngamwongwan. Three outbound routes from IMPACT into the city have been enhanced: 1. Sukhumvit-Nana-BTS Asok, 2. Silom-BTS Saphan Taksin, and 3. MBK-BTS Siam.
At the same time, Grab and taxi service points have been set up at the Drop-off area of Challenger Hall 2, Atrium 2 zone, from 14:00 to 16:00, then moved to Aktiv Square from 16:30 to 19:00. Grab is offering fare discounts up to 40% for car rides using code IMPACT40 when booking in advance, or code IMPACT15 for Standard Bike/Car and Saver Bike/Car services, to ensure sufficient transport options for attendees.
Ms. Jintana also said that the center, together with Pak Kret Police, has established three checkpoints to screen taxis in order to prevent problems.. refusal to pick up passengers and meter avoidance. A campaign is underway to discourage support for taxis that do not use meters, raising service standards. If service problems or overcharging occur, passengers can contact local police, Department of Land Transport officials on duty, or the Passenger Protection and Complaint Center at 1584, Department of Land Transport.
