In a tragic late-night event, a 21-year-old woman riding a motorcycle across a railway in Lat Krabang was hit and killed by a train. Officials are working swiftly to determine the cause.
On 24 May 2026 at 00:30, Lat Krabang Police Station received a report of a freight train striking a motorcycle, resulting in a fatality. The incident occurred behind Wat Sangkhracha (Wat Song) along the service road parallel to the motorway, Soi Lat Krabang 3 Intersection 4, in Lat Krabang district, Bangkok.
At the scene, about 50 meters from a railway shortcut through grassy bushes, the body of a young woman was found. She was identified as Miss A (pseudonym), aged 21, wearing a black long-sleeve T-shirt and gray long pants, with a severe head wound bleeding heavily and abrasions on her body. Nearby was a heavily damaged red and white Honda Wave 110i motorcycle registered in Bangkok, overturned. About 100 meters away, freight train number 4403 was stationary heading toward Bang Sue station, with the train driver standing by waiting for police.
Initial inquiries revealed that Miss A was riding her motorcycle home through a shortcut crossing three railway tracks at a location without barriers. At the time of the incident, her motorcycle was stopped straddling track number 1 when the freight train passed, resulting in a collision with her motorcycle.
Police are currently investigating the train driver and surrounding witnesses to determine if the train sounded its horn to warn of its approach. They are also coordinating with the State Railway of Thailand to verify the train's schedule to help conclude the cause of the accident.
Preliminarily, police have arranged for Ruamkatanyu Foundation personnel to transport the deceased's body to a forensic doctor for an autopsy to determine the cause of death before notifying relatives to collect the body for funeral rites.
