
An employee shuttle bus lost control and overturned, blocking the road and injuring 13 people, causing traffic congestion on the Asia Highway extending over 5 kilometers.
At 09:30 on 27 May 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Aisawan Pathomsantipong, Investigation Officer at Bang Pa-in Police Station, received a report of an employee shuttle bus overturning with multiple injuries on the Asia Highway inbound to Bangkok, just past kilometer 5 in Khlong Chik Subdistrict, Bang Pa-in District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. He promptly proceeded to the scene along with rescue personnel from Ayutthaya Ruamjai Association and Ayutthaya Rescue Unit.
At the scene, the employee shuttle bus was found overturned on its side, blocking three lanes of traffic. Inside the bus, 13 injured people were found: 2 men and 11 women, including the driver. Officials quickly provided assistance and transported the injured to nearby hospitals.
Inspection of the vehicle showed damage to the front, indicating the bus lost control and violently struck the bridge railing before overturning.
Driver Sutjai Kinjarak stated that he had picked up employees from the Rojana Industrial Park 2 to take them to their accommodation after their shift ended. Upon reaching the accident site, which was on the approach to a bridge, the bus lost control. He tried to steer but was unable to maintain control, causing the bus to veer right, hit the bridge railing, and then overturn.
Initially, police recorded images at the accident scene as evidence and planned to summon the driver for further questioning to determine the true cause of the incident.
Meanwhile, the accident caused traffic congestion on the Asia Highway extending over 5 kilometers. Authorities coordinated the deployment of a heavy tow truck to remove the overturned bus and expedite the clearance of traffic back to normal flow.
