The deputy spokesperson of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) drove a pickup truck that collided with a delivery rider, pushed him against a barrier, and dragged his body a long distance on Ratchaphruek Road in Nonthaburi. The rider died after his arm was severed. Alcohol testing revealed levels exceeding the legal limit.
At 10:30 p.m. on 27 May 2026, police from Bang Sri Muang Station in Nonthaburi Province, along with volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, arrived to investigate after reports of a pickup truck hitting a motorcycle, resulting in a fatality. The incident occurred on the elevated Bang Rak Noi section of outbound Ratchaphruek Road, Bang Rak Noi Subdistrict, Mueang Nonthaburi District. Authorities then coordinated with forensic doctors from the Institute of Forensic Science to assist with the examination.
At the scene, a gray electric motorcycle with Bangkok registration was found overturned across the left lane, showing damage on the rear from the collision. Nearby in the right lane lay the body of 43-year-old delivery rider Sornnarint Nakongsi, whose left arm had been severed. Approximately 50 meters away, the rider’s detached left arm was found lying in the middle of the road.
Meanwhile, the vehicle involved was identified as a black Mitsubishi pickup truck registered in Bangkok, with damage to the left front bumper and a collapsed left front wheel, rendering the vehicle undrivable. It was parked about 500 meters from the victim’s body. The driver, a man, appeared intoxicated and was taken into police custody.
Police officials stated that initial investigations and photographs suggest the pickup truck rear-ended the motorcycle, forcing it against the barrier and dragging the victim’s body before attempting to flee the scene. Authorities plan to interrogate the pickup driver and conduct a blood alcohol test. The deceased was handed over to Poh Teck Tung Foundation personnel for transport to the Institute of Forensic Science for autopsy.
However, a witness claimed the pickup driver attempted to assert his status as a high-ranking official and civil servant. Subsequent reports identified the driver as Mr. Jorng, director of the Investigation and Special Affairs Office, serving as deputy spokesperson for the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC). After testing, his blood alcohol level was found above the legal limit. News teams attempted to contact him for comment but were unsuccessful. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
