Meteorological Department Issues 3rd Bulletin Listing Provinces at Risk of Heavy Rain and Flash Floods

The Meteorological Department issued its 3rd bulletin warning of heavy to very heavy rain and released a list of provinces to monitor for flash floods and flash floods from 28 May to 1 June 2026 GMT+7.

It states that from 28 May to 1 June 2026 GMT+7, rainfall will increase across Thailand with heavy rain in many areas, including very heavy rain in the South, East, western parts of the North, and Central regions. This is due to the fairly strong southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, combined with a monsoon trough passing through upper Thailand.

The public in Thailand is advised to prepare and be cautious of dangers from heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rainfall that may cause flash floods and flash floods, especially in vulnerable areas near waterways and lowlands.

Waves and winds in the upper Andaman Sea, from Phuket northwards, are fairly strong with wave heights of 2 to 3 meters; in areas with thunderstorms, waves may exceed 3 meters. In the lower Andaman Sea, from Krabi southwards, and the upper Gulf of Thailand, waves reach about 2 meters, with higher waves over 2 meters during thunderstorms.

Boaters in these areas are advised to navigate cautiously and avoid sailing in thunderstorms. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea should refrain from leaving shore during this period.
