
The rider's family wept and disregarded the offender's status, demanding full legal action after the Deputy Spokesperson of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) struck and killed the rider while driving drunk in a pickup truck on outbound Ratchaphruek Road in Nonthaburi.
At around 23:00 on 27 May 2026, Bang Sri Muang Police Station officers received a report of a motorcycle being hit by a pickup truck, causing one fatality. The incident occurred on Bang Rak Noi Bridge on outbound Ratchaphruek Road heading towards Road 345, Bang Rak Noi Subdistrict, Mueang Nonthaburi District, Nonthaburi Province. The deceased was identified as Mr. Sornarin Nakongsi, 43, a rider by profession. His left arm was severed, found approximately 300 meters from the scene near a damaged electric motorcycle parked on the road's leftmost lane.
The other party involved was Mr. Jarong, Director of the Bureau of Investigation and Special Affairs and Deputy Spokesperson of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC). Alcohol tests showed his blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit, as previously reported.
At 02:00 on 28 May 2026, at Bang Sri Muang Police Station, Ms. Wiyada Nakongsi, 49, the deceased's sister, who is a single mother, arrived and revealed that the deceased was the youngest sibling with two children aged 21 and 20. The granddaughter lives with her. She said the deceased usually worked through an app. Their last conversation was 2-3 days prior when he visited her home. She asked if he could manage his responsibilities; he said yes because he had debts and was paying off land in Suphanburi Province to provide a home for his children. She expressed deep sorrow and could not accept what had happened.
Regarding the offender's claim of being a high-ranking official, she said she did not care and would pursue the case to the fullest. No matter how influential he is, she would not be swayed, especially since there were eyewitnesses and video footage of the incident. She said she would not tolerate anyone.
