NACC Clarifies that Man Who Killed Rider in Crash Is Director of Investigation Office, Insists Legal Process Will Be Followed Without Privileges

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) issued a statement clarifying that a man who, while intoxicated, drove a pickup truck and fatally struck a rider is the Director of the Investigation and Special Affairs Office. The NACC emphasized the case will be handled according to the law with no special privileges granted to anyone involved.

On 28 May 2026, following the incident where Mr. Jarong, an officer of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), drove a pickup truck that collided with an electric motorcycle, causing the death of Mr. Sornarin Nakongsee, 43, a delivery rider who lost an arm, the accident occurred nearthe Bang Rak Noi Interchange Bridge.The crash took place on outbound Ratchaphruek Road heading towards Road 345, Bang Rak Noi Subdistrict, Mueang Nonthaburi District, Nonthaburi Province. A bystander claimed that influential people were involved, and reports indicated that Mr. Jarong was deputy spokesperson of the NACC, as previously reported.

Later at 2:30 p.m., the NACC office issued a statement clarifying the case involving a government official under its jurisdiction causing a fatal traffic accident. It noted that according to media and social media reports, the road accident occurred around 11 p.m. on 27 May 2026 at the Bang Rak Noi Interchange Bridge on Ratchaphruek Road in Nonthaburi Province, resulting in the death of a food delivery driver at the scene. Reports identified the pickup truck driver as a government official from the NACC.

The NACC expressed deep condolences for the loss and sympathy to the family, relatives, and close associates of the deceased. The office is aware that this incident has caused distress to the victim’s family and the wider community.

The NACC clarified that the individual mentioned in the reports is an official under its agency, currently serving as Director of the Investigation and Special Affairs Office. He does not hold the position of deputy spokesperson for the NACC as some reports have claimed.

Nonetheless, the NACC acknowledges the gravity of the loss and is not indifferent. The agency will thoroughly investigate the facts and strictly follow disciplinary procedures with a focus on accuracy, transparency, and social responsibility. The NACC affirms that all actions will comply with the law, without granting any special privileges, and will fully cooperate with relevant authorities in the legal process.
