Get ready to clear your home this weekend as Bangkok launches the annual "Scheduled Big Trash Disposal" event for 2026. This service allows residents to conveniently dispose of large unwanted items that cannot be included with regular trash, such as sofas, mattresses, tables, chairs, or broken electrical appliances, free of charge on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May 2026 across 35 districts throughout the city.
Check the locations and preparation steps here to avoid fines for improper disposal. Use the nearest service point available. Also, discover the "Waste Buying" platform that teaches how to sell waste at home to earn extra income easily. Residents should place large waste items and unwanted goods at the designated collection point in front of their homes before 08:30 a.m. to await collection by officials between 09:00 and 12:00.
Residents are advised to separate large waste items before disposal, such as furniture, electrical appliances, and sports equipment longer than one meter, which should be cut into shorter pieces. Heavy items should be disassembled, and smaller pieces bundled neatly. Be prepared to show identification (ID card, or alternatively an electricity or water bill) to officials.
1. Bring waste to the designated collection point.
2. Provide identification to confirm ownership.
3. Officials will transport the waste to disposal sites at no cost.
Bangkok will collect large waste on 30-31 May, with different districts served each day. Check the dates and locations carefully as follows.
Warning:
Improper disposal obstructs Bangkok's drainage system and is punishable by fines under the Cleanliness Act: 2,000 baht for dumping outside containers or designated points; 10,000 baht for dumping into waterways under Section 380 of the Criminal Code. If you are interested in the "Scheduled Big Trash Disposal" project by Bangkok on 30-31 May, be sure to prepare and check the disposal points in your district.
