The Meteorological Department issued the fourth announcement warning several provinces to prepare for heavy to very heavy rain impacting the period from 28 May to 1 June 2026.
On 28 May 2026, the Meteorological Department announced the fourth bulletin regarding heavy to very heavy rain over Thailand and strong winds in the Andaman Sea, effective from 28 May to 1 June 2026.
It states that from 28 May to 1 June 2026, rainfall will increase across Thailand with heavy rain in many areas, including very heavy rain in parts of the South, East, western Upper North, and Central regions. This is due to the southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand with considerable strength, combined with a monsoon trough passing through upper Thailand.
The public in Thailand is urged to prepare and be cautious of dangers from heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rainfall, which may cause flash floods and mountain runoff, especially in areas near waterways and low-lying zones.
Regarding sea conditions, the upper Andaman Sea from Phuket Province northward will experience strong winds with waves 2-3 meters high, exceeding 3 meters in thunderstorm areas. The lower Andaman Sea from Krabi Province southward and the upper Gulf of Thailand will see waves around 2 meters high, over 2 meters in thunderstorms. Fishermen in these areas should navigate with caution and avoid sailing where thunderstorms occur. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea should refrain from departing during these days.
