A scandal has rocked the local government as the head of the Subdistrict Administrative Organization's office was arrested at his workplace for drug-related behavior. His urine test came back positive, confirming narcotics in his body.
At 10:00 a.m. on 28 May 2026, under the direction of Mr. Prasitchai Suwankhaisri, Chief of Dong Luang District and Director of the Dong Luang District Narcotics Prevention and Suppression Operations Center, he ordered Mr. Sergeant Major Chatchot Chotichuchai, District Officer and head of security, along with officials from the Office of the Narcotics Control Board and intelligence operators from the Mukdahan Internal Security Operations Command, together with the Dong Luang District Special Administrative Operations Unit, to investigate after reports emerged of a local government official in Dong Luang District, Mukdahan Province, involved with narcotics.
Following on-site investigation and evidence gathering, officials arrested one suspect, a local government official holding the position of head of the Subdistrict Administrative Organization's office in Dong Luang District.
Initially, officials charged the suspect with "using a Category 1 narcotic (methamphetamine) in violation of the law," then took him into custody to proceed with legal formalities. Additional questioning will be conducted to expand the investigation to find others involved and the source of the narcotics.
Authorities will transfer the suspect, along with the positive urine test results, to the Dong Luang Police Station for further legal proceedings.
