At 08:00 AM on 29 May 2026, Police Lieutenant Jirajet Phansaeng, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Cha-Am Police Station, received a report of a car accident where a car collided with a metal roadside barrier in the median, piercing through the vehicle. Two people were reported dead and one seriously injured on the Cha-Am-Pranburi bypass road heading to Bangkok near kilometer marker 18 + 100, Sam Phraya Subdistrict, Cha-Am District, Phetchaburi Province. Officers promptly inspected the scene with rescue teams from Sawang Sanphet Rescue Cha-Am, Cha-Am Highway Rescue, and an ambulance from Cha-Am Hospital providing assistance.
At the scene before the Chang Tang Krajat U-turn in Sam Phraya Subdistrict, a white car registered in Bangkok was found with its front end crashed into the metal barrier dividing the road median. The barrier pierced through from the front windshield to the rear window, causing severe damage to the vehicle.
Inside the car were two deceased individuals: a male driver and a female passenger in the front seat beside him. A Ministry of Public Health medical coat bearing the name Dr. Paitaya Suebsingh was found inside, believed to be the driver's identity. The woman's name has not been confirmed but is suspected to be the driver's girlfriend traveling with him.
Additionally, in the back seat, an elderly woman was seriously injured. She was identified as Mrs. Laongtip Pranpanas, 53 years old. Rescue teams worked to extricate her from the wreckage before urgently transporting her by ambulance to Cha-Am Hospital for treatment.
