In the case of a 10-year-old boy abandoned by his mother at the Sri Thep Fresh Market bus terminal in Sar Khuat Subdistrict, Sri Thep District, Phetchabun Province, the mother left him there while she and the younger child took a bus back home to Chonburi. Fortunately, rescue workers and local residents helped cover the boy's travel expenses so he could continue his journey home. He managed to reach Mo Chit 2 bus terminal in Bangkok, where a kind bus driver bought him a ticket to Chonburi. However, no bus arrived to pick him up, so the boy stayed with the security chief at Mo Chit for his safety.
Later, it was discovered that the younger 7-year-old sibling was abandoned by the mother at the home of their stepfather’s friend, as previously reported.Read the news: The drama continues—7-year-old younger sibling abandoned at stepfather’s friend’s house after elder brother was left at bus terminal.)
The latest update (29 May 2026) reports that officials from the Chonburi Social Development and Human Security Office traveled by van to pick up “Nong Safe Go” from Mo Chit bus terminal to return him to Chonburi Province. Mr. Isra Charoenchasri, Deputy Governor of Chonburi, and Ms. Janchira Thaibundit, Head of the Chonburi Social Development and Human Security Office, were present to welcome him and took the boy upstairs to the second floor of the office to talk and assess his condition and mental state.
Following this, they provided essential supplies and cash from the Chonburi Governor to cover the boy’s initial living expenses.
Deputy Governor Isra Charoenchasri stated that upon learning of Nong Safe Go being stranded at the Phetchabun bus terminal and needing to return to Chonburi, the Governor was deeply concerned. He quickly coordinated with relevant agencies, especially the Chonburi Social Development and Human Security Office, to assist and safely bring the boy back.
The province will assess the family’s readiness to care for the child. If the family is not yet prepared, appropriate accommodations will be arranged for the boy's initial residence and care, in cooperation with the Chonburi Red Cross, before proceeding with a suitable plan to reunite him with his family.
The Deputy Governor further noted that this situation highlights a worrying social problem and that children should not have to face such hardships alone. Families experiencing difficulties or lacking readiness are encouraged to contact government agencies, which are fully prepared to provide assistance and support. He also thanked the media for bringing attention to the issue, enabling timely government intervention to help the child.
Ms. Janchira Thaibundit, Head of the Chonburi Social Development and Human Security Office, said that the office will ensure the child's maximum safety while assessing the family situation and appropriate support measures, with full backing from the Governor and Deputy Governor of Chonburi.
She also reminded the public that anyone facing social, child, or family problems can seek help through the Social Development and Human Security hotline at 1300, available 24 hours a day.
Subsequently, the Deputy Governor and officials from the Chonburi Social Development and Human Security Office escorted Nong Safe Go onto a van to travel to the Chonburi Children's and Family Shelter, where he will enter the care and support process according to established procedures.
