Man Fires 9 Shots Killing Wifes Close Associate, Then Crashes Into 22-Wheel Trailer Truck and Dies

The incident occurred in Samut Prakan Province, where a 45-year-old man fled by car after shooting nine times, killing his wife's close associate. He eventually crashed into the rear of a parked trailer truck and died instantly at the scene.

At 20:30 on 30 May 2026, Police Colonel Watchara Thepsen, superintendent of Bang Pu Police Station, received reports of a shooting resulting in a fatality inside a housing project in Phraeksa Subdistrict, Mueang District, Samut Prakan Province. He and investigative officers, forensic team members, the on-call doctor from Samut Prakan Hospital, and rescue foundation staff promptly arrived to investigate.

At the scene near the stairs to the first floor of a building, the body of Mr. Narongchai, 31, was found lying face up in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds to the head and torso totaling nine shots. Nearby, ten 9mm bullet casings were scattered, which officers collected as evidence.

Reviewing footage from the housing project's CCTV, it was seen that before the incident, the suspect drove a white Honda Jazz with license plate ฎอ 406 Bangkok, parking near the building. He remained inside the car watching the surroundings.

Later, footage showed the victim, Mr. Narongchai, returning with a woman. The pair walked up to the residential building, after which the suspect exited his car and followed them upstairs. Shortly after, gunshots were heard, followed by a brief pause, then a series of further shots, alarming nearby residents. The suspect then ran down from the building, got into his car, and quickly fled the scene.

Investigation revealed the suspect is Mr. Thitiwat Chantawong, also known as "Aa," 45, husband of the woman seen with the victim. After the shooting, he fled along Thepharat Road (Bangna-Trad) outbound.

Ms. Bee, 40, the suspect's wife, stated she had been married to Mr. Thitiwat for over 20 years with one daughter but they had recently separated due to marital problems and planned to file for divorce within the week. She admitted to having been involved with Mr. Narongchai for more than three years. He had told her that if she divorced, he would end his relationship with his own girlfriend to seriously build a life together with her.

Before the incident, Mr. Thitiwat sent her a message asking, "How will our story end?" which was the last message she received. That evening, she and Mr. Narongchai went out to eat in Bang Phli District, then returned to their residence. As they were walking up the building, Mr. Thitiwat, apparently waiting in his car, followed from behind, drew a gun, and immediately fired at Mr. Narongchai. She tried to intervene but was threatened at gunpoint to stay out of it.

Mr. Thitiwat then chased Mr. Narongchai upstairs, firing multiple shots. Mr. Narongchai tried to escape downstairs but was shot repeatedly and fell dead. The suspect then returned to his car and fled.

At 21:40, Sub-Lieutenant Natthapong Butyee, deputy investigator of Bang Sao Thong Police Station, was notified of a car crash where a sedan collided with the rear of a 22-wheel trailer truck on Thepharat Road (Bangna-Trad) outbound at kilometer 24, Bang Sao Thong Subdistrict, Bang Sao Thong District, Samut Prakan.

At the express lane scene, a white Honda Jazz with license plate ฎอ 406 Bangkok was found severely damaged at the front, crushed against the rear of a 22-wheel Isuzu trailer truck with Ubon Ratchathani license plates. Inside the car was a male victim trapped between the steering wheel, dashboard, and seat, with severe head injuries. He was later identified as Mr. Thitiwat, the shooter who had killed earlier. Authorities found a 9mm automatic pistol on the driver's side footrest and secured it as evidence.

The trailer truck driver, Mr. Amnat, 46, reported that after delivering goods at Khlong Toei Port, he was heading to pick up cargo at the Wellgrow Industrial Estate. He parked on the roadside to rest and tied a hammock under the truck without turning on hazard lights or placing warning cones. He then heard a loud collision and found the sedan had crashed violently into the back of his truck.

Police Colonel Watchara Thepsen, superintendent of Bang Pu Police Station, stated that preliminary findings suggest the incident was caused by personal relationship issues and jealousy. After committing the shooting, the suspect fled but died in the subsequent crash.

Authorities are expediting witness interviews, reviewing CCTV footage, and gathering all evidence to conclude the facts of the case and proceed with legal action.
