A group of suspicious individuals broke into the Thai house museum housing the wax figure of Phumphuang Duangchan, then placed incense sticks upside down on the altar in front of the figure at the urn shrine of the Luk Thung Queen. Her brother believes they had bad intentions.
At 3:00 p.m. on 31 May 2026, Naret Jitharn, 59, younger brother of Luk Thung Queen Phumphuang Duangchan, revealed that at 1:37 p.m. four people arrived by car at the Thai house museum with Phumphuang's wax figure in Moo 10, Sak Ngam Subdistrict, Khlong Lan District, Kamphaeng Phet Province. They placed incense sticks upside down into the pot in front of the first wax figure, which holds the urn of his sister, Phumphuang. The group appeared suspicious. When he tried to approach and question them, they quickly drove away.
He believes they had bad intentions. Similar incidents have occurred before. With the 34th anniversary of his sister’s passing approaching on 13 June 2026, he wants to warn those who do such acts—whether related to superstition or other reasons—not to, as it does not affect the love and faith of her fans. He believes his sister is aware of who is doing what and whether the intentions are good.
Besides Wat Thap Kradan, this location houses two wax figures of Luk Thung Queen Phumphuang Duangchan, allowing fans and devotees who still love and remember her to pay respects and seek blessings. On 27 May, siblings led by Ong Salakjit Duangchan, Kai Janjuang Duangchan, Jim Duangjai Duangchan, and himself changed her outfit in preparation for the annual memorial ceremony.
