
On 31 May, the NIDA Poll Center of the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) revealed the results of a survey of Bangkok residents aged 18 and over who are eligible voters. The survey covered all 50 districts, representing various education levels, occupations, and income brackets, totaling 1,310 samples. The topic was “Bangkok Governor: Independent or Party-Affiliated” and the survey was conducted between 25-26 May. The findings are as follows:
The survey asked about the voting tendencies of Bangkok residents for the governor election on 28 June 2026. It found that 64.96% indicated they would choose an independent candidate with no party affiliation or backing. Next, 16.88% said they would choose a party-affiliated candidate, 12.82% preferred an independent candidate supported by a political party, and 5.34% were unsure.
Regarding the voting tendencies for Bangkok Council members (BMC) in the same election, 48.47% said they would vote for independent candidates without party affiliation or backing. Following that, 33.21% would choose party-affiliated candidates, 11.60% preferred independent candidates supported by political parties, and 6.72% were uncertain.
When asked about voting tendencies for both governor and council candidates from the same political party or group, 53.97% of respondents said they would choose candidates from different parties or groups. Next, 36.80% would select candidates from the same party or group, 9.08% were unsure, and 0.15% either did not respond or were uninterested.
