Travel Planning Advised: Samsen Road Diversion from Wachira to Sanghi Intersection for One Year, 24-Hour Closure

The Purple Line MRT project segment from Tao Poon to Rat Burana announces a full 24-hour traffic diversion on Samsen Road between Wachira and Sanghi intersections, effective from 1 June 2026 to 1 June 2027, and recommends alternative routes.

On 25 May at 11:09 a.m., a notice was issued regarding a traffic diversion on Samsen Road between Wachira and Sanghi intersections to facilitate the construction of Wachira Hospital station for the Purple Line MRT project from Tao Poon to Rat Burana (Kanchanaphisek Ring), effective 24 hours daily from 1 June 2026 to 1 June 2027.

The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) announced that the CKST-PL Joint Venture, the contractor responsible for designing and constructing the tunnel and underground stations of the Purple Line MRT project from Tao Poon to Rat Burana (Kanchanaphisek Ring), Contract 1 covering Tao Poon to the National Library, must divert traffic on Samsen Road between Wachira and Sanghi intersections to build Wachira Hospital station from 1 June 2026 to 1 June 2027, operating 24 hours daily.

As a result, commuters traveling on Samsen Road from Wachira intersection toward Sanghi intersection should turn left at Wachira onto Sukhothai Road, then right at Suan Ruen Ruethai intersection onto Nakhon Ratchasima Road, followed by a right turn at Kareuan intersection onto Ratchawithi Road, and proceed toward Sanghi intersection. Those heading to Wachira Hospital may travel from Ruamjit intersection, turn right at Suan Ruen Ruethai onto Sukhothai Road, and keep left to access Wachira Hospital. Residents can access their homes as usual.

Regarding Sanghi intersection, traffic coming from Ratchawithi Road on the Sanghi Bridge side can turn right toward Saint Gabriel School only between 05:30–07:30 and 14:00–16:00. Meanwhile, vehicles from Samsen Road can turn right onto Sanghi Bridge only between 07:31–14:00 and 16:01–05:30.

This traffic diversion for the construction work may cause inconvenience and noise disturbance in the surrounding area during the specified period. Therefore, if possible, please avoid these routes. MRTA apologizes for any inconvenience caused. For traffic diversion details, contact 06 5928 0597 or follow updates on the Purple Line MRT project Facebook page and Line @mrtpurpleline.
