Tragic Train Accident in Pathum Thani: Only Right Leg Found, Rescue Teams Intensify Search for Remaining Parts

A tragic train accident occurred at the railway crossing over Chiang Rak Canal in Pathum Thani Province, where only a right leg was found. Rescue teams are conducting a thorough search for the remaining body parts and have sent recovered pieces for forensic examination and identification.

At 06:00 on 5 June 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Aekkarat Meedi, Deputy Investigating Officer of Khlong Luang Police Station, received a report of a fatal train accident. At the scene near the railway crossing over Chiang Rak Canal, Village 18, Khlong Nueng Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province, only a right leg fragment was found. He promptly arrived with Police Lieutenant Colonel Montri Khongart, Patrol Supervisor, Khlong Luang Police, patrol officers, investigation team, forensic doctors from Thammasat University Hospital, and Poh Teck Tung Foundation rescue personnel to investigate.

At the scene, a right leg fragment was found on the railway track. Nearby, a blue shirt and scattered brain matter were discovered. On the bridge crossing the canal, a pair of black Adda brand sandals and a bottle of drinking water were found. Other body parts and organs remain missing due to the dense, steep, and overgrown grassy area beneath the railway tracks.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Montri Khongart, Patrol Supervisor at Khlong Luang Police Station, said that after receiving the report, officers promptly investigated. Initially, only a right leg, a blue shirt, and brain matter were found. No torso parts were recovered yet, so the victim's gender remains unidentified. Rescue teams have been urgently mobilized to expand the search for remaining body parts.

Deputy Investigating Officer Lieutenant Colonel Aekkarat Meedi conducted a thorough examination and documented the scene for evidence. He then assigned Poh Teck Tung Foundation officers to send the recovered remains to the Forensic Science Institute at Thammasat University Hospital for autopsy and identification procedures.
