
A double-decker bus on the Surat Thani-Bangkok route overturned at Khao Yoi, injuring 28 people. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.
At 03:36 on 5 June 2026, the Phetchaburi Emergency Call Center 191 received a report of an accident involving a two-story air-conditioned bus that overturned on Phet Kasem Road heading into Bangkok at kilometer marker 129+900, opposite Sopon Crane shop, in Khao Yoi district, Phetchaburi province. Police from Khao Yoi station, rescue units, and ambulances were dispatched promptly to inspect and assist the victims.
At the scene, the two-story air-conditioned bus operating the Surat Thani-Bangkok route was found out of control, having crashed into the road median before overturning and sustaining damage.
An investigation found 31 people aboard, including passengers and staff. Among them, 23 sustained minor injuries, 5 had moderate injuries, and 3 were uninjured. No fatalities were initially reported.
Rescue workers from Sawang San Phet Rescue and ambulances from Khao Yoi Hospital swiftly assisted the injured and transported them to nearby hospitals for treatment. Meanwhile, police facilitated traffic and are conducting a detailed investigation into the cause of the accident.
