The chief of Sawankhalok Police Station led an investigative team to inspect the house where Aunt Sayan claimed she had brought the lottery ticket for examination. The homeowner cooperated very well. Meanwhile, the commander of Sukhothai Provincial Police expects to reach a conclusion within two days after conducting technical inspections of the mobile phones belonging to all involved parties.
Case progress Sukhothai lottery confusion On 8 June 2026, reporters reported that police officers from Sawankhalok Police Station went to the area to investigate the confusing lottery case involving Ms. Sayan, 54 years old. They visited the home of Mr. Det and Mrs. Waew, neighbors who willingly allowed the inspection to find evidence that might help clarify doubts surrounding the 1st prize lottery number 173770, worth 6 million baht.
Police Colonel Nikom Prompiram, chief of Sawankhalok Police Station, along with the investigative team, inspected Mr. Det and Mrs. Waew’s house thoroughly, including both upper and lower floors, bedrooms, wardrobes, surrounding areas, and even the trash bins inside and outside the house. However, they did not find the controversial lottery ticket or any suspicious items.
Mr. Det and Mrs. Waew were also asked to reenact the event on the day Ms. Sayan came to their house to have her lottery ticket checked.
They then went to Ms. Sayan’s house, but she was not home. Neighbors described Aunt Sayan as a very honest person who means no harm to anyone. She responds simply to others and never holds grudges. Importantly, she does not know how to use a phone beyond answering calls from her daughter. Some may see her as naive, but in reality, she is sincere and has a genuine personality.
Police Colonel Nikom Prompiram said that today they inspected the location Aunt Sayan mentioned. The homeowner cooperated fully and willingly allowed the search to find evidence that could help trace the path of the lottery ticket. The police need more time to examine all complete information. Currently, they have some witness statements, documents, and forensic evidence. Sometimes the process takes time to connect the evidence to the person who took the lottery ticket. This is the standard procedure the police must follow in their investigation.
Meanwhile, Police Major General Sathaporn Sripirom, commander of Sukhothai Provincial Police, said the case should be resolved within one or two days and a solution found for Ms. Sayan. Recently, the provincial and Sawankhalok investigative teams summoned all relevant persons, including Mr. Det, Mrs. Waew, Mrs. Mee, and two other neighbors present during the incident, for further questioning. They also requested to examine the mobile phones of everyone involved again for technical analysis.
