Kanchanaburi Province was shocked to find 12 temporary park employees with positive drug urine tests after local administrative officers conducted urine screenings at Lam Khlong Ngu National Park.
Between 10:00 and 12:00 on 9 June 2026, Mr. Anusorn Sanga Saeng, Chief District Officer of Thong Pha Phum, assigned Mr. Yongyut Saengsuk, Deputy District Officer, to lead members of the Thong Pha Phum District Volunteer Defense Corps Company 9 together with public health officials of Thong Pha Phum District and Mr. Arkhanit Klangprapan, Head of Lam Khlong Ngu National Park. They coordinated with the security department of Thong Pha Phum District to support personnel from the Volunteer Defense Corps Company 9 and public health officials to conduct re-screening urine drug tests on park staff. The aim was to detect substance abuse, monitor, prevent, and resolve drug issues within Lam Khlong Ngu National Park staff.
The re-screening urine drug tests were carried out with excellent cooperation from the Lam Khlong Ngu National Park staff, with all personnel willingly participating in the screening according to established procedures.
The operation proceeded smoothly, with a total of 61 individuals undergoing drug screening. Of these, 12 tested positive for drugs in their urine. Coordination was made with the Kerng Kravia Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital to refer these individuals to the district-level screening center for data recording in the ST system and for ongoing monitoring and treatment according to relevant regulations and guidelines.
All 12 individuals who tested positive were temporary employees with contracts expiring in three months. A memorandum and consent forms for entering drug treatment were prepared, referring them to the screening center at the Kerng Kravia Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital for further rehabilitation.
