The Royal Gazette has officially appointed Somdet Phra Maha Thiracharn of Wat Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklaram as a member of the Sangha Supreme Council, effective from 11 June 2026 GMT+7.
On 11 June 2026 GMT+7, the Royal Gazette website published the announcement appointing a member of the Sangha Supreme Council, stating that His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun has graciously issued the royal command to appoint a member of the Sangha Supreme Council under the authority of Section 7 of the 2017 Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, together with Sections 5(3), 12, 14, and 15 of the Sangha Act B.E. 2505 (1962), as amended by the Sangha Act (No. 4) B.E. 2561 (2018). Somdet Phra Maha Thiracharn (Pasarit Khemngkaro) of Wat Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklaram Ratchaworamahawihan, Bangkok, has been appointed as a member of the Sangha Supreme Council, to serve the remainder of the term of the current council member, whose appointment began on 10 December 2025 GMT+7.
This appointment is effective from 11 June 2026 GMT+7.
The announcement is dated 11 June 2026 GMT+7, the 11th year of the current reign.
