A 41-year-old man who has devoted himself to caring for more than 120 stray cats rescued from abandonment is appealing to agencies and kind-hearted individuals for help after his rental home's owner sold the property and demanded they move out by the end of this month.
On 12 Jun 2026 GMT+7, reporters received a plea for help from Mr. Poollap, 41, a resident of Khlong Si Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province. He lives in a rented house with over 120 cats, all rescued from abandonment or taken in from owners unable to care for them.
Mr. Poollap revealed that he originally cared for only a few cats but began noticing cats being abandoned in various places and others seeking new homes for their cats. Out of compassion and concern that the cats might be harmed or used as animal food, he decided to take them in. Additionally, friends in volunteer networks and foundations who encountered stray cats contacted him to take them in, causing the number of cats to grow continuously to more than 120 now.
He stated that he has designated separate areas within the house for different groups of cats and has been maintaining cleanliness daily to ensure all cats have a good quality of life.
However, his income from his car trading business has declined recently, and he was informed by the landlord that the house has been sold and he must move out by the end of the month. This has caused him severe stress because he does not know where he can take so many cats.
Although he has found a new rental space, it is an empty area where he would have to build shelters or housing for the cats entirely by himself, which exceeds his current financial capacity. Therefore, he appeals to compassionate individuals, government agencies, private sectors, or animal lovers to assist in building accommodations for the more than 120 cats or, if anyone is able and willing to adopt some cats, he is happy to arrange that.
He requests that cats be kept indoors and properly cared for, not allowed to roam freely, to ensure the safety of every cat he has cared for over a long time.
