State Railway of Thailand Ready to Facilitate Public Paying Tribute to Princess Bajrakitiyabha

The State Railway of Thailand is ready to provide convenience and safety to support citizens traveling to pay respects and sign condolence books. Princess Bajrakitiyabha from 14 to 19 June 2026.


On 14 June 2026, Mr. Anan Phonimdaeng, Deputy Governor of the State Railway of Thailand, acting as Governor, revealed that the Royal Household Bureau has opened the opportunity for citizens to pay homage before the portrait and sign condolence books for Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendirathepdevadi, the Princess Royal, at the Grand Palace from 14 to 19 June 2026.

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has fully prepared to accommodate travelers from all regions by coordinating with related agencies to set measures ensuring maximum convenience and safety, aiming for smooth, prompt, and sufficient travel capacity for public demand.

The key measures are as follows:

Measures to accommodate and facilitate the public:

1. Increase train capacity: Add 1–2 passenger cars per regular route train and be ready to add more cars on routes with especially high demand to accommodate travelers coming from provinces to Bangkok.

2. Free parking service: Provide free parking areas without charge at Bangkok Station (Hua Lamphong) and Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal.

3. Connect travel to the event area: Citizens can connect via shuttle buses from the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) at Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal to reach the event site, operating from 07:00 to 19:00.

4. Increase staff presence along the route: Deploy staff at stations and service points to provide information, guide routes, facilitate boarding and alighting from trains, and ensure strict safety throughout the journey and station preparations.

Additionally, SRT has prepared station facilities to accommodate the expected large number of visitors, including information points, waiting areas, restrooms, and special care and assistance for the elderly, disabled, and those needing extra help.

SRT has instructed relevant agencies to closely monitor the situation and passenger volume throughout this period to adjust service plans accordingly, aiming to provide maximum convenience and safety for the public participating in this highly significant ceremony with due respect.
