An accident in Prachinburi province involved an employee shuttle bus colliding with a six-wheeled student shuttle bus near Ban Khok Mai Daeng, Si Maha Phot district. Several children were thrown from the vehicle, resulting in 13 injuries.
At 07:00 on 15 June 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Cherdsak Panpanich, an investigator at Si Maha Phot Police Station, received a report from Ruamkatanyu Rescue Unit at Si Maha Phot that an employee shuttle bus had collided with a six-wheeled student shuttle bus on Route 3079 near Ban Khok Mai Daeng, Village No. 6, Tha Tum subdistrict, Si Maha Phot district, Prachinburi province, causing multiple injuries.
Upon arrival to inspect the scene, authorities found a white bus registered in Prachinburi, used for employee transport, had collided with a six-wheeled Hino truck, also registered in Prachinburi, serving as a student shuttle for children from kindergarten through high school. Thirteen students were injured, with one in serious condition. Rescue workers provided first aid and transported the injured to Si Maha Phot Hospital, Kasemrad 304 Hospital, and Chularat 304 Hospital.
When interviewed, Mr. Wirat Ritpong, 74, the driver of the six-wheeled student shuttle, said he was transporting about 30 students and had just left The Spring Village. He saw that two vehicles had already left ahead, so he followed, not expecting the employee shuttle bus would fail to brake and collide into the rear of his vehicle, causing students to be thrown off and resulting in multiple injuries.
Investigations revealed that as Mr. Wirat was driving the student shuttle out of a side street onto the main road, an employee shuttle bus from the 304 Industrial Estate area was also on the road. This led to a strong collision, injuring both students and workers.
