On 16 June 2026, Facebook posted thatthe Disaster Geology Operations Center of the Department of Mineral Resourcesstated, "A magnitude 6.3 inland earthquake struck China on 16 June 2026 at 16:06 (Thailand time) at a depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter was near Dunhuang city in Gansu Province, China, about 260 kilometers southeast, adjacent to Qinghai Province (source: USGS)."
So far, there are no reports of damage, and the earthquake does not affect Thailand. Further details will be provided as available."
