On 17 June 2026, Mr. Narong Ruangsri, Permanent Secretary of Bangkok, reported the progress of repairs at the subsidence site on outbound Ladprao Road toward Bangkapi Market in front of Lotus Bangkapi. The BMA, together with related agencies, worked throughout the night to repair the road surface and reopened the route to the public at 5:00 a.m. today.

The subsidence, which occurred on the evening of 16 June 2026, created a hole approximately 3 by 4 meters wide and about 1.5 meters deep. The BMA coordinated with the Department of Public Works, Bangkapi District Office, Metropolitan Electricity Authority, and other relevant agencies to immediately address the issue.

Officials pumped water out of the area, inspected the structure, and carried out engineering-standard repairs by filling the subsided spot with compacted sand concrete to strengthen the structure, followed by fast-setting concrete. They then restored the road surface, completing the work by 1:00 a.m. Afterwards, the materials were allowed to set and the site was checked for safety readiness before reopening the road.

Mr. Narong said that since receiving the report, the BMA has closely monitored the situation, personally inspecting and supervising the repair efforts. He urged all agencies to complete the work as quickly as possible to minimize impact on residents and road users.

The BMA will coordinate with relevant agencies to thoroughly investigate the cause of the subsidence and assess the structural stability in the area to prevent similar incidents in the future. They also thanked the public for their cooperation and apologized for the inconvenience caused.
