Urgent Transfer Ordered for Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital Director Drinking Beer While Drawing Patient’s Blood Disciplinary Inquiry Set with Results in 30 Days

In Sakon Nakhon, an urgent transfer was ordered for the director of a Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital who drank beer while drawing blood from a patient. A disciplinary investigation committee has been established to deliver results within 30 days. If found guilty, disciplinary action will proceed.

Following the online release of images showing a man holding a beer can while sitting beside an elderly patient receiving medical services, it was identified that he is the director of a Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital in Waritchaphum district, Sakon Nakhon province. This sparked public demand for a prompt investigation and calls for his removal from the area. Details were previously reported.

Today (17 Jun 2026), reporters visited the Sakon Nakhon Provincial Administrative Organization, the overseeing agency, to verify the facts. Mr. Kittana Tharakittirat, secretary of the Sakon Nakhon PAO, explained that the management is aware of the incident and has assigned the director of the PAO’s public health division and the chairman of the Waritchaphum Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital network to conduct a preliminary investigation to ensure fairness to both the complainant and the accused.

The initial investigation confirmed that the individual in the photo is indeed a director of a Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital affiliated with the Sakon Nakhon PAO. The behavior depicted is deemed inappropriate. Therefore, the management issued an immediate transfer order to remove him from the area today, while official documentation is being prepared. Subsequently, a fact-finding committee will be established with a deadline of no more than 30 days. Depending on the investigation’s outcome, a disciplinary committee will be convened to address any violations according to government regulations.
